Hot hot weather...HK Part 1

I've just returned from HK and the weather was scorching hot there.. much hotter and humid than Sg definitely..It was a short 5D4N trip but i really needed a break. =)

I could say i won't be visiting HK so soon after this time.

Well, there was nothing much to do actually, HK gives me the impression of Sg.

Very modern, lots of people and fast walking paces.

The last time i went HK was a couple of years back.

I liked the HK now. People are much friendlier compared to the past.

I stayed in MetroPark Hotel Wanchai.

I loved its location. It's in HK island. The last time i stayed at Jordan, it was quite a hassle to change trains to get to Causeway Bay.

Plus, there is a very good dim sum restaurant (Foo Lum restaurant) just behind the hotel and Hui Lau Shan desserts outlet is just a short walk along the hotel. There are a lot of eateries beside it as well, HK cafe and roasted meat store.

The room is very comtemporary designed. Small yet cozy and classy.

Very comfy especially after each hectic day out.

Famished after the flight, we had our lunch and desserts at the airport.

Very nice..

We took the Airport Express to Hong Kong island.
Not worth the price, i've rather take the coach bus next time.
It cost the same price but the coach bus fetch us to the hotel door.

Metro Park Hotel Wan Chai
The decor on our lift lobby.

Our cozy room for the next 4 days.

After unpacking our stuffs, we are on our way to Disneyland.

Disney train

Here we are.. Hong Kong Disneyland.
Well, i feel it will be my first and last time in HK disneyland.
Nothing much in there i feel.
The decor in the park are not as great as Toyko Disneyland, plus not much rides too.

After disney, we went Causeway bay for dinner and browse around.
We saw this huge figure made of recycled tyres.
Very impressive.

Good morning Wanchai..

Next day we breakfast in a Hong Kong Cafe.
I had soup macaroni with ham. I loved it.
R had sandwich and a bo lo bun.

On our way to Ocean Park

Taking bus 629 frm Admiralty to Ocean Park..

This is best place in Ocean Park, Atoll Reef.

Goldfish Museum

We settled for a quick dinner as we went very exhausted after the whole day in Ocean Park.

The next day we headed out for Macau

Our breakfast cum lunch.. roast goose, char siew rice.. with a soup.
Nice~

Hong Kong Part 2..

I've never been to Macau, so we thought we can go over for a day.
So we went to Shun Tak Centre at Sheung Wan Station to buy ferry tix.
The first day, we went over but we realised we forgot to bring our passport along, we had left it in the hotel, thus we went the other next day.
Shun Tak Centre which is also the jetty, is just above Sheung Wan Station, thus v convenient.
There is no need to pre-book your tix, as there are rides almost every 10mins, but do book your return tix at the same time as it costs more if you buy from Macau.
The ferry is huge, very cozy and classy, definitely one of the best ferry i've ever taken.

Our tix

Boarding..

Good Bye for now HK..

Hello Macau

Once we reached, we looked for Venetian Free Shuttle bus to go Venetian,
Venetian is at Cotai, while the Ruins of Paul, etc are on Macau island,
thus we decide to go the further one first.

On our way, we saw ..

Macau Tower
We didn't go. Its quite out of the way for us, plus we aint really keen.

Reached.. The interiors are beautiful.
Btw Marina Bay Sands and Venetian are from same company, so i can understand
their trend of building man-made water canals in the shopping mall.
Venetian has Gondola and MBS has Sampan boat.. Haha..

The Gondolier can sing super well..i'm v impressed.

Best egg tart is the universe.
I bought mine from Choi Heong Yuen Bakery in Venetian.
I heard many other nice brands too.

The Venetian Casino

Exterior

We took the free shuttle bus back to Macau, ferry terminal.
Next we took a HKD 3.20 bus ride to Senado Square.
Its bus no. 3 just at the bus stop beside the Terminal. (Loop bus so just take the same bus back).
No hassle at all.

Senado Square.. very pretty. Look at the waves on the floor.

Pretty Mac.

The food street. Lotsa samples. Their bak kwa is v tasty, better than Mei Zhen Xiang.
Just walk along the street and you will reach Ruins of St Paul, very accessible.

We went up to the Fortress, just beside the Ruins.
Their attractions are infact very near one another.

The view on top is unbeatable.

We went back to the Food street to get something to munch.
Cheese fries.. hee

The night view of Senado Square is so romantic.
We took the bus back to the Terminal to take the ferry back to HK.

Bye Macau.. i love Macau..
Well, i had the intention to take my wedding pics there next time actually.
Its really a beautiful place.

Back to cozy HK Hotel for some supper.
From Macau back to HK somehow has a return of travelling from M'sia back to Sg feeling.
You feel much safer and more convenient. hee

Next lovely day..ready for some dim sum breakfast.

We went to Foo Lum restaurant just behind our hotel for very good dim sum,
plus its reasonable priced, so we ate a lot. Cheaper than Crystal Jade yet same standard.
Too bad, we can't eat another day as we were going back next day morning already.

We walked around WanChai and saw this convention.
We decide to enter and take a look.

Free drinks

Cola Transformers.

HK traditional Ice cream van

We walked over to Star Ferry Terminal from Convention Hall.

We took a Star Ferry ride to Tsim Sha Tsui.
I read that this is a must do in HK from the guides.
Well. Nothing much i should say. I almost dozed off.. it must have been the humid weather, made me sleepy.. zzz :X

The first thing we saw in Tsim Sha Tsui, the clock Tower

Then we walked to Avenue of Stars, another boring place.

We took a MTR ride to Central station and walked to The Peak Tram Station.
I highly recommend taking a bus to the Tram station from Central Station.
I forgot which bus no. though.
Our walk to the Tram station from Central station was mad. The place was like a slope and its not very near so can you imagine we were like climbing up the hill on every step we took and we ended up sweating massively when we reached.
We concluded to take the bus when we return to the MTR station.

The way up to the Peak from Tram.

Feeling famished from the exerise and i saw my fave Restaurant, Bubba Gump.
The prices from this Bubba Gump outlet was like twice from what i had in Bali.
But still, i was too hungry to be calculative. Plunge in..

I love this mascot.

The nicely done interior

If you get their drink, you can get a cup for free. (new)

Yummy yummy.

Mussels, clams, prawns, snow crab and lobster claw steamed in garlic creamy sauce.
Just heavenly..

Dig in..dig in...

Pose pose..then dig in...

This is yummy too.. mahi fried fish, prawns, crayfish. calamari.. woot.

The signature snap.. they have this in every Bubba Gump outlet.

Guess whats is it?

My free cup

At sky terrence waiting for night falls.

Waiting and waiting..for the right moment.

Yes the lights are up..

Woot, perfect.

Surprisingly my 7 mega pix cybershot can do the work. Cheap and goodie..

Look at the crazy queue for the return Tram ride

My kind of comfort food as Supper.
What a hectic day..

Its a shaker cup

The very next day, farewell to Cozy hotel and yummy dessert.

Last min airport buys. And omg, i spent S$100+ at this place.
Zhen Zhi Wei has become their ambassador.

Last min lunch before we hit the flight.

HK style maggie mee.. nicee..

I didn't do much shopping.
Infact i cant find anything to buy.
Perhaps the next time i go.. i will visit the Mong Kok Centre where i heard all the goodies are.
Or the wholesale market. But i'll definitely nt go in a hot hot weather like July/Aug anymore.. =(

End~
