Fullerton for seafood buffet dinner. The seafood are to die for as usual. Fresh oysters, wholesome lobsters, and sweet fresh prawns. Slurps. We ate from 7pm to around 10pm. Heh heh... we are good!!!

16th Nov 08 - 20th Nov 08 Taipei, TaiChung 5D4N (14-15 degree celsius)

Air Tix: S$500 (treat)
Hotel and expenses: S$800 (shared)

Me and Ryan went to Taiwan a week before my birthday. He treat my air tix and i insisted on sharing the hotel expenses.
Taiwan trip has been getting more and more costly. I remembered the first time i went was only S$500 for air tix and hotel. Grr...

Day 1 - Departure Sg, Arrival in Taipei

I stayed at TS Hotel for 3 nights (NT5,640) includes daily breakfast.
I like this hotel, it's clean and has a comfy bed. The bathroom is spacious, has a bath tub and has a separate area for shower.
Even the breakfast was quite tasty.
But the only drawback would be not enough bedroom space to place the luggage.

Day 2 - TaiChung Sun Moon Lake

We woke up early in the morning to move out to TaiChung

Tix. There was a discount for allocated seating tix (2pax 910NT), even cheaper than free siting tixs (2pax 1300NT).
The ride took around an hour.

The toilets are similar to the ones in the plane.

From the TaiChung HSR station, we took a bus from the bus station (exit 5).
It took 2 hours to reach Sun Moon Lake. (2pax 400NT)

Upon reaching Sun Moon Lake, we searched for our Sun Moon Lake hotel and here we are.
2,550NT for a night stay includes dinner and breakfast.
The room is okay but i think TS hotel is much better in comparision. The bed is abit stiff and the bathroom is not to my liking. The best thing is the view.

We actually planned to visit a few attractions nearby the Sun Moon Lake the first day but i was a lil' unwell so i slept in the hotel till evening.. Sianz
Evening we walked around the nearby shops and had our dinner.

This Tien Ren brand pineapple cake is damn nice.

Yummy charcoal peanuts.

I consider this brand's Pearl Milk Green Tea as the best i've ever drank in my life.
2 Thumbs up!!

We are shocked upon the amount of food served for just 2 people.

I especially like this mushroom dish.

Day 3 - Returning back to Taipei

We went to Wenwu Temple around Sun Moon Lake.
It's a temple featuring 'Guan Yu' or aka 'Guan Gong'.
Ryan's fave character.

My fortune told.

The seller says i can plant it in soil and when it grows these words will be on it. How amazing.

We walked back to the hotel from the temple which is around 5km.
Cos its too early, there is no bus transport and we don't wanna take a cab.
We went back to prepare our stuff back to taipei.

Day 4 - JiuFen

Train Tix to Rueifang (2pax 124NT) Around 45mins to reach

Bus to Jiufen (Each pax 22NT) Around 15mins to reach

Its freaking cold at Jiufen, we are guessing around 12 degrees.

As we are Yam balls lovers, this is the first store we went in..
Yummy yam balls. I ordered the cold one and the seller praised me for being so brave. Hee.

We went into another Yam ball store for another bowl.

And i bought a pack to bring back to Sg to cook.

Famous Rice Kueh store each only 10NT which means Sg 0.50. Sluprs.
We have the red bean filling one. But Amelyn told me the carrot one was their signature when we return to Sg. Missed out on that. Grr..
